Libraries
The Blythewood Branch of the Richland County Public Library is located in the heart of Blythewood at 218 McNulty Rd. Hours are Mon – Th 9am to 8pm; Fri-Sat 9a-6p. All resources of the main Richland County Public Library and the eight other branches are readily available to library patrons. Blythewood Business Coalition
Many businesses in the 29016 (Blythewood) area code have banded together to unite in cause and work together in purpose to help nurture and protect the business community. The coalition exists to promote Blythewood area businesses by providing a forum of communication to exchange information and ideas, as they relate to business. Schools
Blythewood is part of the Richland County School District Two (2), with a nationally recognized reputation of excellence. There are three school districts in Richland County, with a total of 86 schools: 52 elementary, 17 middle, 13 high schools, 1 special education school, and 1 career center. There are also two alternative academies: one inpatient program for the mentally ill and an inpatient program for those with substance abuse problems. Additionally, there are more than 34 private schools in the area, with a variety of religious affiliations including non-denominational Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Presbyterian, Secular, Baptist, Episcopal, AME and Methodist.
